It’s Important to Make the Unconscious Conscious

Frequently, the debris from a primal (infantile) psychological trauma, such as the terror of abandonment, injects itself into the baby’s psychological formulation in a way that no one is consciously aware of.

Abandonment, the dark side of separation, can shatter the baby’s sense of safety and put it on alert.

Even if there is no reason to be afraid, the baby is not yet a thinking being.  It is an infant.  It is in its body and emotions, not its brain.

Fear and pain take over just when the baby is learning what to intuitively know about the world, others, and its own felt sense.

Instead of a positive emotional connection with the world, it develops a negative one because of all the unconscious material polluting its worldview.

Unconscious material is primarily emotional and doesn’t get in the way as much in our everyday lives, but hinders deep intimacy, vulnerability and self-realization.
